Paul Carey is a graduate from Arsenal Technical High School, class of 2003. Carey, understands the importance of pursuing higher education and understands the need for more multicultural students to pursue higher degrees. Acknowledging this fact, Carey decided to start up a scholarship to enable young multicultural students to pursue higher education.
This scholarship is awarded to the student that meets the following criteria:
- Graduate from high school with a grade point average equivalent of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, over a four (4) year period
- Taken the SAT/ACT
- Include two sealed letters of recommendation, which includes the recommender's name, address and relationship to the student
- Must have three years of foreign language while in high school
- Must be a under- represented minority from a public school
- Be able to demonstrate tremendous drive and determination to accomplish goals
- Submit proof of enrollment or acceptance at a community or junior college, college or university.
- Must participate in at least one athletic sport and be part of another organization that is not athletic (honor's society, student council, etc.)
The dollar amount for this scholarship varies.
